Average cow/calf herd in MO is around 27 head. So I guess it depends of if it's attached to another operation. But call them what you want, I suppose. There are also a lot of former dairy farms in Iowa that have been rented/sold out but the owners/family, still raise 20 acres of Alfalfa for ****s and giggles, apparently.
