I wouldn't buy one. Too many horror stories. If I wanted a GMC I'd get the big or small DuraMax or the 6.6 gas. We have a couple pickups at work with the 6.6 that have been flawless and run hard.


The 6.6 gas has a lot in common with the direct-injected 6.2L that's causing the trouble now. Both of them are gen5 small-blocks, with the same fuel systems, heads, block architecture, and bore size. The crankshaft is obviously different(longer stroke length), so hopefully it's from a different supplier and doesn't have the lube hole problem mentioned above.
