SW OH | Pull the 4 bolts and lift off the tower. If the tip is not worn and looks like the picture Walton posted, look at the rails. When you take the tower off whet you see inside the transmission with be 3 rods (rails) running front to back. Each will have a socket on them for the tip of the shifter. The left one will have an open notch to the right, the right one will have an open notch to the left, and the one in the middle will have a pass through notch all the way across. The notches should be square and uniform. They are fastened to the rail with a set screw with a lock wire. Make sure they are tight. These parts can be replaced fairly easily and much cheaper than a whole transmission. These parts will wear excessively if you rest your hand on the shifter while driving.
