Subject: RE: Shop air compressor location?

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I could have installed mine in my heavy duty loft but decided to install it in my "utility" room. I got some engine mounts for an old car and bolted one on each of the three legs. The compressor just sits on the concrete floor. This reduces vibration and keeps the air compressor from "walking about" on its own.

I planned on making a shower like curtain around the air compressor out of some moving van blankets I obtained. My plan was to have an open area both above and below the curtain to allow heat to disperse but yet reduce the noise. I haven't gotten to that project yet. The air compressor is quite loud when operating in the utility but generally I'm not in the utility room when it is running.

I wired my air compressor with an electric contactor and an air valve. Both these are controlled by a 110VAC circuit. I have an indicator light by my walk out door that shows the status of the air compressor. The air system can be cycled ON/OFF via any one of several wireless FOBs located around the shop. I ran the air line around the shop with various quick couplers and hose reels.

First Pic shows the air valve on the air compressor. Second Pic shows the indicator and wireless receiver by my walk out door.
