If one looks at a fallout map, quite a bit was dumped on area that either blew or did a lot of tillage.

Couldn't that be a reasonable cause instead? All those hours on cabless equipment, breathing in, eating, and bathing in the dust contaminated with fallout, those operators now getting old enough it is beginning to show? All that repeated exposure, day after day, month after month, year after year?
