So, Iowa State's AD told that he met Rogers at a sports conference in Texas and they became friends. Then some time later he inquired how he could become ISU's coach, and ISU's AD told him he needed to take another step up somewhere before he could come to ISU (neither of them predicting Campbell would be leaving this soon). When ISU's AD asked him why he took WSU job, he said because he was told he needed to take that step upward...
I guess we will learn if he is actually a good coach or rode the coattails and networking to get where he is. | |
