Subject: 18 speed transmission

Iv got an 18 speed Eaton I really like in my kenworth. It was a reman when I bought the truck 10 years ago with paperwork on it. Has about 250k miles on the transmission. It’s been tight and smooth shifting up till this year and I’m starting to get alittle movement in the gear shift this spring. I can kind of move it around with it in gear a little bit. And then this fall, I noticed I can put my hand on the gearshift and actually turn the gearshift in my hand about 10° either direction. I don’t like that feeling. It feels loose. I looked at the boot(4 bolt connection) under the shifter and it’s tight. So it’s loose in the transmission. Time for a rebuild?? I’m curious what would cause it to rotate like that? What about that cost me to rebuild that?
