Is the saw running on 220v or 110? Reason I ask is I bought a 10” craftsman table saw new 25 or 30 years ago. It had 3HP plastered all over it so being naive I bought it thinking I had a REAL saw. It was set to run on 110v. That should have been the first warning sign. When I put it to work ripping 2” lumber boy was I disappointed! I would trip it out or pop a fuse pretty easily. I got suspicious and looked at the motor, it had a 110v 1.5HP amperage rating but the tag had 220 amperage rating too. That’s when I figured out how to change a couple wires in the switch to change it to 220. After I switched it to 220 it was a totally different saw. Now it will smoke the belt if I push it too hard but there is no more tripping out. Last spring I was ripping 3” ash with a coarse tooth ripping blade. It didn’t take it real fast, maybe a foot per minute but it was doing the job nonetheless. It just zings right through 1” oak and ash.
