Subject: Best crop for my soil type

Riverton Wyoming
I'm working on making a plan for what I am going to plant next year. I was thinking of planting German Millet, but was told that I would be better off planting Barley for my soil type. My soil type is Apron sandy Loam, and Lostwells sandy clay loam. I am on irrigated land in Riverton Wyoming. What do you expert farmer thinK? What would get my more dry hay per acre? If I do plant barley I would probably cut while it is in the milk stage. The barley I could plant around the 1st of May, and the Millet I would plant around 1st of June.
