It's going to put a lot of pressure on Campbell..... Franklin was fired because he didn't bring the National Championship trophy to Penn State. I can't believe that Campbell will not have the same pressure put on him. The way I see it.... there are 100+ football teams in NCAA. Only one of them is going to be National Champion. Some are perennial Champions. So, the more that the perennial teams - e.g. Ohio State, Alabama, others - are at the top, there is less opportunity for others to reach that pinnacle. So, if a team goes 10-2, that seems to be not good enough for some fans. And for some teams, going 10-2 is more likely than is becoming the National Champion. I would still like to know what happened with the Penn State-UCLA game... did the players lose confidence in Coach Franklin? Was there too much pressure put on Franklin? |
