SW Ohio | I have not had that part of tranny apart but my guess is clutch packs, but does seem odd that only reverse 3rd and not forward also, or all reverse, those would be better symptoms of clutch packs. Could be o-rings or such or clutch faces acting like a rachet, only clicks in one direction. I seriously doubt a filter change is going to fix that. Don't know how skilled you are but fixing clutch packs by themselves is not rocket surgery. There are procedures for testing pressures without splitting the case open, I suggest getting a tech manual if you want to go this route. | |
