Subject: How to ballast an 8R?

South Texas
Got an 8R230. Figured it shouldn't have enough power to hop. It showed up with 3000 lb of wheel weights and 4 suitcase weights on the front. It hopped so bad with a 26ft disc it wasn't usable. Weighed 29,980, with 11,820 front and 18,160 rear for a split of 39.4% on front. Put 12 psi in the 480/80r50 goodyear rears and blew the front 420/85r34 up to 35 psi.

So then I removed the front weights and bracket. This made it tolerable. 36.3% weight on the front.

I think the next step is adding 3000 lb of wheel weights, will make it 32.9%. But then I'll have a 230hp tractor weighing 32,200 lbs. Am I going about something wrong? Most I see have about 10 suitcase weights and no outer wheel weights.
