Subject: RE: Where would you spend money soybeans

I have seen around a 7 bushel reduction in soybean yields the years I didn't apply dry fertilizer 2x2 with planter 80# potash, 50#AMS and 20# DAP usually the lowest setting on planter is 130#-140# I may keep the same blend and special order a sprocket to get me down to 120# of the fertilizer blend. Also backed off on Dry for corn 2x2 from 240# down to 150# next year. didn't see a yield difference in corn on backing off that much, came more down to Hybrid genetics that handled the Rust better. Do a infurrow biology program also and play around with Foliars for both crops. Spend less on a dry and equal out the savings with some foliars for better yield return. I have low levels of P&K on most all of my ground as I pay full mortgage on home farm so the 2x2 fertilizer does help me on soybeans and corn
