What's odd is that their most loyal defenders are the very people whose families are doing much of the dying. It is incredibly hard to convince someone of something when they have (or think they have) financial incentive to not be convinced of. I think there were better ways to do farming than what we ended up with. The whole farm economy didn't need to be driven into mass producing just a couple main crops. Now that we have a system that is set up that way, it will be hard to turn the ship around.
I used to handle chemicals with no care in the world. I figured if it was bad for me, they wouldn't be selling it. I am now embarrassed by that level of naivete. None of these giant corporation's care about you or your farm. Everything they do is driven by the corporation's desire for more. If a corporation did actually care, they would be left in the dust by the ones who don't. | |
