20 miles west of Indianapolis Indiana | i'm led to believe Stinger can have some moderate ill effects on corn post. i tried a 2 pass program on some acres to create by own resicore basically this year and run all the stinger pre and then no stinger post and basically do a 1/2 rate resicore type pre and 1/2 post. i can't say i saw any better corn, but i had clean fields still and had a pre on some rather than just relying on all post.
surestart had both python and stinger which i was told python had the most potential for damage to corn than stinger so went to stinger only type programs. trying to get away from stinger also but have thistles on farms and want to be clean...
i'm also interested in a maverick type program now for pre after some thinking about zidua vs acetachlor and then still run the stinger in the pre and not the post. i'm still have some acres of 100% post herb and those acres will still have my stinger in the post unless i go to a dicamba type.... as generic zidua comes to market that will make these more common.
I'd like to know what the really high yield guys like hula and dowdy use for corn and bean chemical programs and see what they are avoiding because of negative crop responce yet keeping fields clean and then try to merge that on a budget, as i'm sure thats not cheap to be clean in that manner without high cost and only 200 bu corn rather than 500.
