I think Harbor Freight is pushing Northern Tool out of the market. I used to not think too much of Harbor Freight, but they are growing on me. They have stores everywhere just like TSC and their Icon line of tools is top notch for the work I do. The only Northern Tool store in Memphis TN is in an area where I am afraid to leave my pickup in their parking lot while inside shopping.
Northern Tool carries the Milwaukee line of tools, but they are all under lock and key and no one is ever around to unlock the cabinet.
Your thoughts?
We have a corporate account at that same Northern store. I’m in there weekly. But honestly I think they’ve gone downhill in the amount of stuff they have for sale.
Lowe’s on Germantown Rd has every tool under lock and key. Can’t buy a drill bit without going to find someone to help you. We have an account there also and it’s a pain being escorted to the checkout with $180 worth of drill bits or whatever. |
