North Central Indiana | Soybeans are tough in my opinion. On one hand it’s easy to go cheap and they do fine. On the other hand it doesn’t feel right to go “cheap” on them just for the sake of saving money. That said, we’ve planted some beans the last few years untreated, and at 120k. They haven’t suffered compared to our other beans. We like foliar manganese and boron. Used to put some zinc on but we’ve gone away from that some in front of soybeans. Typically don’t use fungicide. This year I’ve gone all untreated beans and plan to plant everything at 120k or less. We’re in 15 inch rows | |
