big industrial farms and small niche farms. I certainly hope the trend of farmers markets doesnt fade away. Direct marketing is the only thing that will save the small farm. The big guys just have too many advantages in the wholesale world. The small guy needs to be able to capture the middle mans take to make it somewhat even. Although Im not sure how many people are left that want to put the kind of time in it takes for farm to table.


I also see a lot of specialization on the larger farms. Maybe one crew does soybeans, and one corn. Or maybe there will be custom crews traveling the nation, like the wheat run.
