Oil and gas industries aren’t exactly the gold standard when it comes to protecting the environment.
I’m skeptical that they can drill 6,000’ deep, drop a nuclear reactor in the bottom, flood the shaft with water, and keep the groundwater and aquifers from being contaminated.
I do think more nuclear power is needed, but this idea needs more scrutiny before going hot.
