Chatham Ontario. | I had attended a meeting of several companies sales reps about 20 years ago. The topic came up of a farmer having the exact situation the OP has laid out. Farmer's combine or planter never left his farm. He had purchased seed based on the selling point being "white hilum export quality". All his crop was turned down for GMO contamination. Having paid an extra seed premium, he was mad and wanted his money back. The sales reps all started talking about how there was no way they could guarantee the seed purity to pass a random GMO test. They thought the farmer was totally out to lunch and that was going to be the end of that argument. Before they went on to the next topic of the meeting I finally gave my two cents. I said" WELL THEN STOP ADVERTISING THEM AS NON GMO EXPORT QUALITY", in a firm no nonsense tone of voice. The room was quiet for a few seconds, maybe as time of self reflection and then the meeting continued with no rebuttal.
I doubt anything is done about your situation other than a deal on some seed. Keep us posted if it is settled according to your satisfaction. | |
