| it seems to me that farming has exponential changes every 5 ish years. when roundup (plus other improved chemical)crops came along all of a sudden you didn`t have to cultivate 3 times. the 2,000 acre "big farmer didn`t have to find hiredmen with cultivating skills. then GPS where reduced fatigue from long days and dust & dark. then using semis and grain carts improved efficiency . i`m forgetting others, but you get the idea.
the next big thing is the adaptation of autonomous machinery, where you get it to the field and set it and forget it and you get a text if there`s a problem or when it`s done.
the countryside looks different from 5 years ago around here less fences and treelines, less old building sites. more pattern tile, more consolidated coops and machinery dealers and the trend will continue | |
