Subject: RE: Cover Crops

Boone Co. Iowa
I have always done wheat ahead of corn, and plan is to put liquid N on planter and put 30 lbs N on at planting.

I.also put a stop in so I have a "row" or strip to planter into. 7.5" spacing, block 1 out ov every 4 rows.

First time doing this. Last year had a guy make strips with his Soil Warrior Coulter machine...

Had excellent stand last year. I plant my corn a week or 2 later than most....

It is different, maybe a challenge, but save a lot on tillage. I have a Precision planter with every bell and whistle and did 4 years of no-tilling more corn prior to trying the covers.
