The age restriction can be a problem and I can understand wanting to keep out the riff raff. It doesn't hurt to check, we've stayed at several that have accepted our oldie after sending pictures.
Ed, my parents did the same as you with a house in AZ. They were able to spend 30 winters down there and had a wonderful time.
