Ours are alluvial, and there spots with clay veins. Alfalfa does really well in those spots (assuming because it holds nutrients and water way better), but the row crops really seem to struggle. I kinda ran around with the ripper last fall and did some random spots, and you could see them in this years corn.
I hate to go to full tillage, and we plant on spring NH3 strips on heavier ground, but I won’t on the lighter ground, do you think the pluribus works deep enough to alleviate this? There’s someone I could hire to try it, but I’m hesitant because it’s small fields and I’d need to pay them a premium to be worthwhile for them. | |
