What are others seeing for Pioneer seed cost?
Gonna rant a bit. We should be sharing prices to help combat these multi billion dollar companies strategizing to get our dollars. Some of this seed cost (not just Pioneer) I think is rediculous given financial projections. 13777 with I think pce or pceu (double stack) trait package is quoted to me at $319/bag after discounts. Just normal discounts - I haven't pressed the dealer too hard yet. This is for a decent but not huge quantity. Not sure what region I'm in. I am aware going conventional is an option and may consider that. What are other quotes for Pioneer, other companies and how hard is it to get/do you get any extra discounts?
I was quoted the $319 as well, I bought pce's from other company's @ $259, Pioneer wasn't any better this fall. My best number this fall was a conventional that I paid for $189 for next year. My seed cost works out to $116/acre @ 35,000 |
