Subject: RE: Chevrolet engines

I'm driving a 21 model Silverado with a 5.3. Bought with 87k, currently around 110k. Been flawless for me, but the paperwork says it had a bank of lifters done at 20k. Also know of a local man that bought GMC new, had to have it towed with 20k or so, because the lifters failed so miserably. Wish there was a good way to delete DFM. When I bought my pickup the mechanic hadn't found a way to do it yet. Plus at that time the lifters are still in the pickup, at least they aren't activating/deactivating all the time.

Love our pickup, gonna plan to run it and not worry about lifters at this point.

Now shall we talk transmissions? Did the transmission thermostat delete so it runs cooler, hoping to avoid early tranny failure like so many of the 6 speed transmissions had.
