Subject: RE: No till vs strip till corn

Southeast WI
I bought a pluribus in 2015. My preference is to just notill. My wetter ground i will strip if needed in spring after beans and when it is corn on corn it will be stripped regardless of conditions. Lighter loamy, sandy loam soils seldom see the stripper. This is just a pluribus with no fertilizer - i would like the N applied with it but strip 1/3 of my corn acres at most so N is applied out back of planter closing wheels.

OK. Thats my system.

First 2 years having the pluribus I ran replicated strips for corn on corn wet ground (thats me to know what I should be doing). Year 1 about 7 bpa response. Year 2 about 10 bpa response. To me that's an OK return just on yield, however when you put the plantability factor in hands down YES to stripping. It was like planting into fully tilled soil vs planting into a mudfest both years.
