Ne Nebraska | You hit on a couple points that make why we have an RV. Our ideal trip is about 10 days with the RV. we get tired of hauling everything in from the vehicle to hotel room and back out again every day or two. We also get tired of eating out. Another reason is we have a pet.
We like having our clothes, personal items, food, etc all packed and with us. A typical trip is a couple days traveling. park the RV and spend 2-3 days tourist stuff or just relaxing at a state park. Travel another day or two and repeat. Couple days trip home. Eat out when something appeals but have something in a crock pot to eat in. A lot of times eat one big meal out and the rest eat in.
Outside of peak times- Memorial Weekend, July 4, etc you wont have a problem finding a site. When we are in between locations -travel days- its not unusual to just park in Walmart parking lot over night.
tow vehicle- I'd recommend "4 down" and not a trailer. vehicle selection is a whole nother topic.
Join several online forums and learn and research.
Started with 23' trailer, then 30' trailer and finally 40' Class A.
Good advice I got was to buy the best quality and go backward in years until you can afford. $40-50K will buy a good quality older Class A. | |
