Both ways are good. I enjoy driving trips. Bring a cooler, buy groceries as you go, eat a decent supper and/or rely on hotel breakfast for one meal . Rent a hotel room with kitchen Leave everything in vehicle. Planning on a trip to the SW next January February. Need a vehicle once we are there so probably drive it
