| Have you considered a small class B camper van? They are much more nimble driving and you wouldn't need to bring a car along. You can still stay in a motel/hotel once in awhile without feeling to need to always camp. If you're just travelling through an area, Walmart parking lots aren't a terrible place to sleep. The nicest part is always having a fridge and bathroom with you. They seem quite expensive for what you get but they do hold their resale value better and can work as a second vehicle around home. Just another option to consider.
