RV's get terrible gas mileage. There's much more work in getting it set up for the night than checking into a hotel. Will likely still have to check into the RV park. Plus the cost of it (or the rental fee). Unless you're looking for the "experience" of it all I think you'd be money ahead to stay in hotels. Depending what you get for a camper you may need to pay attention to bridge height. Its not going to be nimble if you want to stop off somewhere along the way that has tight parking or if you end up in a tight city road. Unhooking and hooking the car back up would be a hassle.
