Subject: RE: Roll back of auto fuel efficiency standards

ILLRick - 12/3/2025 22:04 My question is: Roll them back to what level? Trump's first term? Or to an earlier time? It sounds like they only eliminated the Biden levels. There is room to roll back farther. Today's engines are more efficient than those of 10-15 years ago, even with all the junk hung on them. Imagine how much more efficient they can be if allowed to breathe and exhale easier.

Again, this is not about emissions.    This is about the CAFE standards (fuel efficiency) that auto manufacturers must meet or be penalized by the federal govt.

Removing Biden's unrealistic CAFE standard basically lets auto manufacturers continue to sell vehicles powered by ICE.
