| Have been putting the nh3 while seeding since 1998 using different drill configurations. A concord 12" with Andersons, FC 5000 12" 5 1/2" rubber packer with Andersons, then 5" paired row stealth and lastly a Conservapac with 3" paired row. If you go with nh3, a pressurized system really helps prevent the opener from collecting dirt and turning into a big mess. If not pressurized then a opener that has the nh3 tube insulated is the next choice. Next get a nh3 detection kit so you know exactly where your nh3 is compared to your seed. Keep an eye on this especially as your openers wear. Up here a few guys are going with both a tow between and a tow behind cart then they just need single shoot carts. For the acres your doing two passes is probably the cheapest route. To go minimum till if it has the stealth opener body just put on a point for banding and switch to the 3" for seeding. | |
