Subject: RE: Cat Skid Steer Lift Arms

Red River Valley, North Dakota
Your oil is returning from the lift side faster than your pump is pushing oil to the downforce side. This creates an air pocket and is why your loader arms float up.

This has been an issue with compact utility tractors with low hyd flows. The fix is to use a restrictor orifice in the lift side , basically making the hyd system push the loader down instead of gravity doing the work.

If your skid steer has recently started doing this , I would suspect an issue in the lift system valve , there could be check valves to potentially stop this from happening or stop settling that are playing funny games
