southern MN | I’d think the coops more or less inspect things year by year as they use the bins and inspect the grain? But news outfits don’t seem very good at investigating or understanding much of anything any more.
Years ago the not so old big bin on the coop near me had an issue - workers found some bolt heads laying on the driveway, looked around and a few seams the bolts were breaking off. Must have gotten a bad batch of bolts when erecting it!
They had quite an ordeal to contain that safely, they unloaded a small far bin, then started up all the legs and conveyors to transfer the grain from the dangerous bin to the empty one, keeping everyone away.
It all worked out, new bolts and the bin has been fine.
But, anyhow, issues crop up, unexpectedly.
