it says the volume of liquid changes with temperature? How do they meter it accurately? It seems like the only way to be accurate is to weigh it, but that isn't how we buy it.

After searching, I see that bobtail delivery trucks have had temperature compensation for many years. I wonder if back in the old days if certain savvy customers tried to get filled when it was cold and the propane company tried to fill everyone up in August?
