You’re on the right track….

I read some of Waterloo’s post… I read some of tomcats post. They made is black and white and it’s not a black and white issue….

Are there children that thrive and beat statistics?? Absolutely… but it’s been proven children from a single female home are more likely to be of trouble. I wish I could remember the podcast I listened to… layed it out pretty well.

In my opinion there are two parent homes that are worse off than single parent homes but at the end of the day it’s hard to ignore that odds are in favor of a two parent household. Would you like to hear something?? While they may be in a single parent household(mother), with positive male role models that child is more likely to prosper.

There is no perfect way to go about it… no black and white. Pretty easy to see government programs have fostered a lot of it. I guess my problem is regardless of the child circumstances… why aren’t we trying to make sure they get the support they need to thrive??

Lastly… maybe we need to advocate personal responsibility… we are all gonna do the horizontal mamba… maybe if folks understand what the responsibility of raising a child and providing for them meant… maybe there would be a reaction for more protection or abstinence…

I guess I struggle with if you’re gonna do something you need to be responsible of what happens… if not you don’t do it. Lastly… why not try to be positive role models for all children even if they aren’t your own??
