What about the mothers that are divorced?  If they had children they would be a "single mom" after the divorce.   I dated a woman in the early 80's who got divorced after 4 years of marriage and had a 2 year old at the time of the divorce.   Your "spread her legs" comment was in extremely poor taste and certainly doesn't apply to every single mom.
