southern MN | It gets to be such a fine line when a ‘farmer conversation’ turns into a sales pitch.
There are not many good discussion forums left when any advertising is allowed. They just gum up with the same sort of spam email folders get full of. Then no one bothers trying to weed through the mess and it all falls apart.
Your reply was valuable and had info. You didn’t start the thread. so I’m with you.
But the ‘anti advertising’ sentiment also has value, in trying to keep this place fun and active. Your comments did run a bit along the advertising route, I think that’s just your nature of presenting info on something you work with.
I really enjoy and respect folk like c_meyer and a few others in the business side of farming that post here frequently but have to walk that fine line of not promoting and advertising, just helping.
It’s tough, I know. You get some negative feedback ‘just because.’
Fortunately I’m only a simple dirt farmer, and not that good at it, so I don’t have anything to promote, or be careful about! Ha ha.
