nw ohio
I put cables on my trailer and the probe at the elevator broke them within a couple of days. I thought it was a fluke, so I put new ones on, and they broke those too. In their defense, the operator is in an office at ground level looking at a mirror above the trailer so I'm sure they can't see the cables. I just don't use anything now.

I used 3/16 cable with 1/4 coating. I think if I had used heavier cable something else just would have bent or broke.
I stripped away the coating and used 3/16 crimp sleaves just because that's what I already had.
