It really depends where your priorities are.

If the cows are the #1 over family then it's hard to change.

I use to be farming #1 and gotta go go and get everything in/out ect.

Kids change that.

Had to adjust and be there for the kids stuff and enjoy it while they are small as it goes by so quick. I prob had some less yield or lower price or fewer sales from it but i haven't missed it. Also been good to show the boys if we all work hard together we can get stuff done and then go do the fun stuff together and everybody gets their fun stuff in and it's a team effort.

You do need a backup plan to feed if something were to ever happen to you. Broken bones or tore something happens quick and accidents happen. It's always good to have a friend or neighbor who knows enough to fill in during an emergency.

This summer I tried a treatment for tennis elbow in both arms. Dr didn't say i wouldn't be lifting stuff for a 2-3 weeks afterwards until we were done with the procedures...........i had pallet of popcorn going out the next day....so it was good that my 14 year old son had already started learning how to sew 50# bags. If it wasn't for him already in the process of learning i would of had to train someone new while i was unable to lift the sewing machine and show him what to do. Now he only needs me when the sewing machine string messes up and he gets flustered with it thinking he did something wrong when it is just temperamental. I'm having surgery on both wrists later this month and we scheduled it when the boys will be on Christmas break and we are typically slow. Just can't always schedule stuff that that way...
