There is a guy here in town who is building little 900-1100 Sq foot 2 bedroom one bath houses on slabs. They sell for around 140-150K and rent for around $1500 a month. He has a pile of them, so something must be working. He puts them up for sale and if they don't sell within a set time he rents them.
