Here is another option. This is a power strip where one outlet is used as a trigger. When the current through that outlet is above a threshold that you set, two other outlets are turned on.
You would need one of these per heat lamp. The heat lamp plugs into the monitored outlet. Then you could plug a normal light (possibly on a long extension cord to an easily viewable spot). The secondary light would only be on when the heat lamp was on. You'd have to check if it could handle the current needed for the heat lamp.
I have an older version I've used in a couple of ways.
*In hot summer days, I use it with a chest freezer in the garage. It automatically turns on a fan to blow at the side of the freezer whenever the freezer compressor turns on
*With a miter saw to turn a shop vac on whenever I squeeze the trigger to turn the saw on. | |
