Talked to a guy in that area yesterday. He says some of it is from the September frost. Screwed up the maturity and is still 25%. Some guys haven't even started.
They're not telling the whole story. They were pretty dry this summer, corn was stressed too much to finish. I know some guys with irrigated corn that did just fine. The guys struggling are trying to raise corn in a region that doesn't raise dryland corn all too well. |
