Want to replace my tarp bow straps with cable and have a few questions.

Will 3/16 cable coated to 1/4 be heavy enough? 7x19 cable

The crimp loop sleeves....for coated 3/16 do you use 1/4 sleeves or do you strip the cable and use 3/16 loop sleeves?

Any other tricks when making these cables?
