Montana has never been a salt heavy state. I guess the other thing is the route they have is probably pretty long… what’s the point in putting something out the first few miles and nothing that rest? I’m willing to bet the focus is keeping the road open vs both lanes open. I’ve driven home in the conditions your talking about… is it fun no but take your time and pass when you can. It’s pretty different then here where a route may only be 20-30 miles and back

Just took a class from mndot and I guess they employ 5000 people.. even if 1500-2000 of them are plow drivers look at the territory they cover vs out west. North Dakota has had a fair amount of oil boom money to spend on there roads. The company I work for does alot of work out there
