Stupid idea!
Instead of letting a vehicle go into the median and decelerate bounce them back into the traffic behind them. Novel concept.
Every inch of it should be plucked out and sent to China on a ship.
Nothing at all stupid about having cables in the medium strip.
Neighbor was driving on I90 hit a down pour slid into medium and over into oncoming traffic got T boned in drivers door killed instantly. Left behind 4 month old Son and 1 month pregnant wife with another Son. His widow is my sister. Cable in medium would have saved his life.
