West Central Iowa | I have the oil pump out of a NAA due low oil pressure and I am questioning if the relief valve was installed correctly or not. This is the gear style oil pump and when I removed the relief valve it was installed with the open bore towards the spring, meaning the relief valve spring went down inside the valve a 1/2" or so. The parts listing shows the relief valve installed the other way, with the closed end with the extended center boss installed towards the spring, which does not seem correct as I don't know if the valve will be able to travel enough to uncover the port and bypass any oil. I just want to be sure we install it the correct way.
Thanks! | |
