I have two Eby trailers that have the ridge pole instead of straps. The only downside that I have found on my one that’s 5 years old the ends of the tarp where pole goes thru has wore thru so had to modify it to keep pole in. Mine have a fiberglass pole. On my Timpte remove one strap. Also with pole you don’t really need hurricane straps.
