North Central Indiana | Probably depends on the brand as far as updating goes. Old farm fans can be updated to run on the latest GSI system.
Hours aren’t scary imo. Obviously I don’t know what type of dryer you’re talking about but we have rolled the hour meter once on a farm fans dryer we have. It’s 24 ish years old, has 12k hours. Still looks like the day we bought it, stainless screens and keeping it cleaned out right after the season and washed off and the legs painted really helps things. I honestly don’t know that the actual dryer will ever be worn out. It got all new bearings this summer. We’re on a schedule for that now as it’s much more enjoyable to do them on a sunny day in August as opposed to a snowy windy night in November when you’re pissed that it’s not running and you can’t feel your fingers.
So yes, a 10 year old dryer that’s only run 230 hours/year wouldn’t scare me at all if it’s been cleaned out | |
